Code Lyoko is an animated kids show made by some french studio that aired in english on Cartoon Network when i was a kid. in each episode a computer virus named X.A.N.A. manipulates the real world by manifesting in different ways while a team of four high school hacker friends with different skill sets fight back through a VR universe. this feels like a metaphor to me.
i fell in love with running my own network services after becoming familiar with linux while i was in high school and discovering the selfhosted and homelab subreddits in college. at the beginning of 2020, due to the trifecta of losing my hearing, dropping out, and the US's inadequate response to the COVID-19 pandemic, i moved back in with my parents and had lots of time to hide in my room and mess around with computers.
not long after my last post where I replaced the icon and application menu entry for the Sublime Text IDE, I went and did the same for the GNU Image Manipulation Program because using the acronym just doesn't feel right to me.
i made a silly little modification to my copy of Sublime Text 4, the GUI text editor that i use for everything outside of a terminal. (even writing this!) here's how i did it.
